| The National University Hospital (NUH) opened its doors to the public on 24 June 1985 as the first government-owned restructured hospital in Singapore. NUH is a 957-bed acute-care, tertiary hospital. It is also the nation's only university hospital. As a major health care provider, NUH has more than 2,000 professional staff providing round-the-clock personalised care to our patients every day of the year. We are constantly committed to improving standards for our patients' medical, paramedical and nursing care. As a tertiary referral centre, NUH offers a comprehensive range of services through our 20 clinical departments, 29 specialty and more than 63 subspecialty divisions, as well as 6 paramedical departments and a Dental Centre. As a dedicated university hospital, NUH supports clinical teaching for postgraduate undergraduates and medical students. The hospital also provides the base for clinical research. |
